Waggle is a word puzzle game for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what
information the app and its advertising partner collect, why, and the choices you have.
It applies to the Waggle iOS app (bundle identifier com.ravo.waggleapp) and to
no other product.
Waggle is developed and published by an independent individual developer (“we”, “us”), who is the data controller for the limited processing described here. You can reach us at any time at info.ravostudios@gmail.com.
Where our advertising partner decides for itself how to use the data it collects from your device, it acts as an independent controller of that data, and its own privacy policy governs it. Section 4 identifies it.
Waggle saves your game state locally using Apple’s standard app storage
(UserDefaults) inside the app’s own sandbox. This includes:
This data is not transmitted to us and there is no cloud sync or backup on our side. It may be included in your own iCloud or iTunes device backup if you have backups enabled, in which case Apple’s privacy policy applies to that copy. Deleting Waggle removes the data from your device.
The free version of Waggle displays banner, interstitial and rewarded video ads. Ads are delivered by Google AdMob, which is the app’s only advertising partner. To request, show, cap and measure an ad, Google may collect from your device:
Apple’s privacy-preserving attribution frameworks, SKAdNetwork and AdAttributionKit, are also enabled. These let advertisers learn that an install or conversion happened without identifying you personally; the reports are generated and delayed by Apple’s operating system, not by us.
If you purchase No Ads or an active Waggle VIP subscription, banner and interstitial ads stop being requested. Optional rewarded videos — the ones you deliberately choose to watch in exchange for a reward — still load an ad when you tap to watch one.
Waggle uses a single advertising partner:
| Partner | Role | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google (AdMob) | Serves every banner, interstitial and rewarded ad in the app, and provides the consent form described in section 8. | policies.google.com/privacy |
There is no ad mediation layer and no other ad network bundled in Waggle. Earlier versions of the app used a mediation platform that routed ad requests to roughly twenty-five third-party networks; that was removed in September 2026, and this policy has been narrowed to match what the app now actually contains.
Google fills ads from its own advertiser demand, which means the individual advertiser whose ad you see is a Google customer rather than a separate SDK inside Waggle. Google explains the partners and technologies involved in that process, and how it uses the data, on its how Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services page. We do not control what Google does with the data it collects, and we do not receive personally identifying information back — only aggregate reporting such as impression counts and revenue.
Waggle contains no analytics, attribution or crash-reporting SDK. Earlier versions bundled several — Adjust, AppsFlyer, Firebase and Sentry, all of which arrived as components of the former mediation platform. They were removed in September 2026 along with it, and nothing replaced them.
Measurement is therefore limited to two things we do not operate ourselves:
Waggle offers optional in-app purchases: honey and gem packs, a one-time No Ads unlock, and the auto-renewable Waggle VIP Monthly subscription. All of them are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit.
| Purpose | Data used |
|---|---|
| Running the game and saving your progress | On-device game data (section 2) |
| Showing ads, capping how often they appear, and paying for the free version | Advertising data (section 3) |
| Personalising ads, where you have consented | Advertising identifiers and interaction data |
| Measuring ad delivery and preventing invalid traffic | Advertising and device data (sections 3 and 5) |
| Delivering and restoring purchases | Apple transaction status |
| Fixing crashes and improving stability | Apple’s aggregated crash reports, if you opted in |
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not build advertising profiles ourselves.
The first time ads load, iOS asks whether Waggle may track you across apps and websites. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, the IDFA is not made available and Google must not use it for cross-app tracking. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and you can turn tracking off for all apps there at once.
If you are in a region that requires it, a consent form is presented before personalised advertising begins, and your choice is stored and passed to Google in the standard IAB TCF format. The form is Google’s own User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form. You may withdraw or change consent at any time — where your region requires a standing way back in, a Privacy Options row appears on the Profile screen inside the app, which reopens the same form.
Turning off Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → Personalised Ads and, in Tracking, disabling “Allow Apps to Request to Track”, minimises ad personalisation across your device. You will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you.
You can review and limit how Google personalises ads to you across its services at myadcenter.google.com.
Purchasing No Ads or subscribing to Waggle VIP stops banner and interstitial ads from being requested at all.
Because your game data lives only on your device, deleting the app deletes it. There is nothing for us to erase on a server. For data held by Google, use the controls above or contact Google directly using the link in section 4; we will also help if you write to us.
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, we rely on:
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the personal data held about you; have it corrected or erased; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; receive your data in a portable format; and not be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that significantly affect you.
To exercise any of these, email info.ravostudios@gmail.com. We will respond within the time your law requires — one month under the GDPR, 45 days under US state laws. Please note that, because Waggle has no accounts, we usually hold nothing that identifies you, so we may need to direct your request to Google, which actually holds the data. If you are in the EEA or UK you also have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, the following applies. In the twelve months before the date of this policy, the categories of personal information collected through the app are identifiers (advertising identifiers, IP address), commercial information (purchase status), internet or other electronic network activity (ad and app interaction), coarse geolocation derived from IP, and inferences drawn by our advertising partner for targeting.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, sharing advertising identifiers with our ad partner for targeted advertising may be treated as a “sale” or as “sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising” under those laws. You may opt out by declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt, by turning tracking off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, by using the Privacy Options row on the Profile screen where it appears, or by emailing us. We honour opt-out preference signals where legally required, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Waggle is a general-audience word game. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under the minimum age of digital consent in your country, which is up to 16 in parts of the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us at info.ravostudios@gmail.com and we will act promptly to have it deleted. Parents can also restrict in-app purchases and ad tracking using Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions on the device.
Game data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Google retains the data it collects for its own defined periods, which are set out in its privacy policy — typically months rather than years for identifiers used in ad delivery. Aggregate revenue reporting we receive contains no personal information and may be kept indefinitely for accounting.
Google operates globally and may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where data is transferred out of the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google relies on legal transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Its privacy policy (section 4) describes the safeguards it applies.
Game data is held inside the app’s sandbox on your device, protected by iOS and by your device passcode and encryption. Network traffic from the advertising SDK uses encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but because we hold no accounts, passwords or payment data, there is no central store of your information to be breached on our side.
We may update this policy as the app changes or the law requires. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version, and this page is the canonical location of the policy. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect; where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent again.
